Access to Work
Access to Work is designed to help you get or stay in work if you have a physical or mental health condition or disability. The support you get will depend on your needs. Through Access to Work, you can apply for a grant to help pay for practical support with your work, support with managing your mental health at work, money to pay for communication support at job interviews.

Who is Access to Work for?
To be eligible for Access to Work you must have a physical disability, learning disability, mental health condition, a developing condition, a temporary condition, or an illness that affects your ability to do your job on a day-to-day basis.
You must be aged 16 or over, live and work in England, Scotland, or Wales (there is a different system in Northern Ireland), be about to start a new job, apprenticeship, internship, work placement, already employed or self-employed, or about to return to paid work in the next 12 weeks.
What Kind of Support does Access to Work offer?
Access to Work can support with costs such as non-medical helpers, for example, a British sign language interpreter, travel costs to and from work or within work. Specialist equipment, for example, a computer if you need one because of your disability, assistive technology, a support worker, or job coach, to help you in your workplace. A support service if you have a mental health condition and you are absent from work, or finding it difficult to work and the cost of moving your equipment, if you change location or job.
